Players earn points by making predictions on the results of the European Football Champions League.
You can make
- Predictions for the individual games. Predictions can be made and modified until 1 minute before the scheduled game start.
- Predictions for group results (1st and 2nd team of each group). Predictions can be made and modified until 1 minute before the scheduled start of the first game in the group.
- Predictions for the knock-out stage (quarter final, semi final, final and winner). Predictions are made at various stages, see below.
No predictions are made for the games of the qualification rounds.
Scoring:
Individual games (predicted until 1 minute before the game starts):
- 1 point for a correct result (home win / away win / draw)
- 1 extra point for the correct goal difference
- 1 extra point for the exact goal score
-> Note: for games in the knock-out stage, the result after regular play time (90 minutes) counts. Results after extra time (2x15 minutes) and penalty shootout do not count.
-> Note: a maximum of 3 points is awarded for each game
-> Note: a predicted draw is always 2 points at least
-> Example: you predict 3:1, game ends 1:0, you get 1 point
-> Example: you predict 3:1, game ends 2:0, you get 2 points
-> Example: you predict 3:1, game ends 3:1, you get 3 points
Group results (predicted until 1 minute before the first game of the group starts):
- 1 point for each proceeding team in a group (1st place or 2nd place in the group)
- 1 extra point for each proceeding team in the correct position (1st or 2nd)
-> Note: a maximum of 4 points is awarded for each group
-> Example: you predict Arsenal 1st and Barcelona 2nd, result is Lyon 1st and Arsenal 2nd, you get 1 point
-> Example: you predict Arsenal 1st and Barcelona 2nd, result is Arsenal 1st and Barcelona 2nd you get 4 points
Knock-out stage predictions: quarter final, semi final, final and winner. Predictions are made at several stages:
You predict
- the overall CL winner
- the (losing) finalist (1 team)
- the (losing) semi finalists (2 teams)
- the (losing) quarter finalists (4 teams)
Predictions are made
- before the group stage (predicted until 1 minute before the first game of the group stage starts)
- you earn:

- after the group stage (predicted until 1 minute before the first game of the first knock-out round starts)
- you earn:

- before the quarter finals (predicted until 1 minute before the first game of the quarter finals starts)
- you earn:
---- 4 points for the winner
---- 2 points for the finalist
---- 1 point for each semi finalist
- before the semi finals (predicted until 1 minute before the first game of the semi finals starts)
- you earn:
---- 3 points for the winner
---- 1 point for the finalist
- before the final (predicted until 1 minute before the final starts)
- you earn:
---- 2 points for the winner
-> Note: the knock-out stage predictions are an extension of last years preceeding team and overall result predictions.
-> Note: you have to predict the winner 5 times. The predictions may be the same or may be different.
-> Example: you predict Chelsea as winner at each phase, Chelsea wins the CL, you get 24 points (10 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 2)
-> Note: if a team drops out earlier than your predictions, you get the points for the achieved stage.
-> Example: you predict before the group phase Arsenal as finalist, Arsenal loses the semi final, you get 4 points
-> Note: you do not get additional points, if a team goes further than your prediction.
-> Example: you predict before the group phase Barcelona as finalist, Barcelona wins ths CL, you get 6 points
-> Note: some of your predictions may become impossible after the drawing. That is bad luck, there is no compensation for this.
-> Example: you predict Chelsea and Barcelona as winner and finalist, the two team meet in the semi final, you cannot make the maximum points anymore (but you get the semi final points).
-> Note: if you include a team twice in your predictions (on purpose or by mistake), you do not get double points. Effectively, you miss one chance to make points.
-> Note: a maximum of 62 points can be made for all knock-out stage predictions combined.
Tie break:
If two players have the same number of points, the following criteria are used for ranking
- the number of exact goal scores predicted
- the number of correct results predicted
- points earned in the knock-out stage predictions
- points earned in the group results predictions
- points earned in the final
- points earned in the semi finals
- points earned in the quarter finals
Additional rules:
- Predictions of the individual players become visible to other players only after the deadline for the prediction. Trends (e.g. percentages of home win / away win / draw predictions) are visible also before the deadline.
- No points are awarded if no prediction is made in time. No exceptions are made if the internet connection or the web server is down.
- Only one account per person is allowed.
- Be polite if you make a post in the forum.
