Note: The rules are exactly the same as last year.
Players earn points by making predictions on the results of the European Football Champions League.
You can make
- Predictions for the individual games. Predictions can be made and modified until 1 minute before the scheduled game start.
- Predictions for group results (1st and 2nd team of each group). Predictions can be made and modified until 1 minute before the scheduled start of the first game in the group.
- predictions for the proceeding teams in the knock-out stage. Predictions can be made and modified until 1 minute before the scheduled start of the first leg.
- predictions for the overall winner, finalist, semi finalists and quarter finalists. Predictions can be made and modified until 1 minute before the scheduled start of the first game in the group stage.
No predictions are made for the games of the qualification rounds.
Scoring:
Games in group stage (predicted until 1 minute before the game starts):
- 1 point for a correct result (home win / away win / draw)
- 1 extra point for the correct goal difference
- 1 extra point for the exact goal score
-> Note: a maximum of 3 points is awarded for each game
-> Note: a predicted draw is always 2 points at least
-> Example: you predict 3:1, game ends 1:0, you get 1 point
-> Example: you predict 3:1, game ends 2:0, you get 2 points
-> Example: you predict 3:1, game ends 3:1, you get 3 points
Group results (predicted until 1 minute before the first game of the group starts):
- 2 point for each proceeding team in a group (1st place or 2nd place in the group)
- 2 extra point for the group winner
-> Note: a maximum of 6 points is awarded for each group
-> Example: you predict Arsenal 1st and Barcelona 2nd, result is Lyon 1st and Arsenal 2nd, you get 2 points
-> Example: you predict Arsenal 1st and Barcelona 2nd, result is Arsenal 1st and Lyon 2nd you get 4 points
-> Example: you predict Arsenal 1st and Barcelona 2nd, result is Arsenal 1st and Barcelona 2nd you get 6 points
Games in knock-out stage (predicted until 1 minute before the game starts):
- 1 point for a correct result (home win / away win / draw) after regular play time (90 minutes)
- 1 extra point for the correct goal difference after regular play time (90 minutes)
- 1 extra point for the exact goal score after regular play time (90 minutes)
- 2 extra points for the proceeding team after two legs (possibly after extra time and penalty shootout, predicted until 1 minute before the first leg starts)
- 2 extra points for the winning team in the final (possibly after extra time and penalty shootout)
-> Example: You predict 1:2, game ends 0:2 after 90 minutes, you get 1 point
-> Example: You predict 1:2, game ends 0:1 after 90 minutes, you get 2 points
-> Example: You predict 1:2, game ends 1:2 after 90 minutes, you get 3 points
-> Example: You predict ManU proceeding in the Semifinal, ManU proceeds, you get 2 extra points in addition to your points for the two games
-> Note: a maximum of 8 points is awarded for the two legs in the knock-out stage
-> Note: a maximum of 5 points is awarded for the final
Overall Result (winner, finalist, semi finalists and quarter finalists, predicted until 1 minute before the first game of the group stage starts):
- 2 points for each quarter finalist
- 2 extra points for each semi finalist
- 2 additional extra points for each finalist
- 4 additional extra points for the winner
-> Note: 10 points are awarded for the winner, 6 for the finalist, 4 for the semi finalists and 2 for the quarter finalists
-> Note: a maximum of 32 points is awarded for the winner, finalist, semi finalists and quarter finalists
-> Example:
You predict Chelsea winner, Inter finalist, Real and Roma semi finalist, and Eindhoven, Juventus, Fiorentina and Celtic quarter finalists
result is Chelsea winner, Eindhoven finalist, Fiorentina and Inter semi finalist, and Real, Juventus, Porto and Liverpool quarter finalists
you get 22 points: 10 points for Chelsea as predicted winner, 4 points for Inter as predicted semi finalist and 2 points each for Real, Eindhoven, Juventus and Fiorentina as predicted quarter finalists
Tie break:
If two players have the same number of points, the following criteria are used for ranking
- the number of exact goal scores predicted
- the number of correct results predicted
- points earned for the overall winner, finalist, semi finalists and quarter finalists
- points earned for the group results predictions
- points earned in the knock-out stage
- points earned in the group stage
Additional rules:
- Predictions of the individual players become visible to other players only after the deadline for the prediction. Trends (e.g. percentages of home win / away win / draw predictions) are visible also before the deadline.
- No points are awarded if no prediction is made in time. No exceptions are made if the internet connection or the web server is down.
- Only one account per person is allowed.
- Be polite if you make a post in the forum.
